It would ask questions through writing as if it had a mind of its own. It would make beeping noises that sounded like laughing or crying while Harry was in bed, and it would display messages on the screen with Harry's name in them. He was OK with the present, until it started doing strange things. I think that it might not appeal to a younger audience anymore as some parts of the book are quite dated but it is an enjoyable little read.īasically, this book is about a boy, Harry, who gets a computer for his birthday, even though he always wanted a drum set. Are middle school relationships really that vapid? I mean I’m quite removed from the middle school spectrum but is that really how they work, or how they worked in the 80s? I don’t know.ĭespite my little notes about the book, this isn’t a bad book. This either is a case of not caring, which I mean it might be but also, she seems convinced she’s has the correct favorite item, so I would be concerned about her memory.Ĥ. His mother really needs help, she cannot remember her middle son’s favorite anything. The older brother is quite a character for a 15-year-old boy, and I am honestly surprised that the main character cares about getting his brother back. I was incorrect the main character has a younger sister and an older brother.Ģ.

I thought that the brother was going to be a younger brother….

Some things that I noticed while reading this book.ġ. I would say the book I read was about what I was expecting from an 80s book with a title like this book has. At the free little library I stopped at this seemed like the best book of the bunch, so I left a book I no longer wanted in its place and went home to read about how a computer ate this dude’s brother.
